I do part time work of staining homes in the forest.Usually we try to match up the same color by bringing a sample in to Sherwin Williams. They have an exterior stain brand called "Woodscapes" that is terrific, and they can match it up to the existing color very well. This product has a 10 year life and looks great. If it is a townhome, try to get your attached neighbor to do his too, or at least the front. The break down the middle looks funny if they wont.I do "help work" also for people who do most of their own, but want me to do the high work,or replace rotting fascia boards, etc.
Hint:
1. Remove mold along siding bottom by scrubbing with a 3:1 ratio of water to bleach.
2.Re-attach warping siding panels with 1-1/2 inch wood screws (as opposed to the staples originally used)
3. Stain on dry surfaces when temperature is over 50 degrees.
